The Winter CSA before X-mas!
January 26, 2012Taking home the bounty for Christmas Holidays. We had a great share including some honey, garlic scape pesto, dried herbs, and plentiful greens! We loved our root veggies, and potatoes in abundance.

A Fantastic Harvest! Our first winter pick up was bountiful! We had a lot in the field since the fall had been so warm. CSA members also had a beautiful fall day to enjoy a drive out to the farm. We gave some people a little farm tour and some pony rides!
In it’s final reating place! When we finally parked the hoophouse we were pleased that all went well! It took us all of one hour to undo and drag the hoophouse and set it up again! What a fantastic undertaking! Ready for some spring greens!
Comming across the ploughed ground! So far no hitches in our first moves ! You could barely tell where the cedar runners came across the field it pulled so well!
Comming across the hayfield! My dad & I designed our own mobile hoophouse this year! Here is it’s first trip across the farm!
We had a draft hose and equipement day for Fleming College & any interested public. Kim Hadwen taught us the reins with his four horse hitch pulling a plough. We also had my dad David Foote demonstrating the tractor & plough. We also brought out the BCS rottotiller.
We had a few people come by the farm to visit & volunteer. The OTESHA group was one of them. They came on a rainy day after a very challenging bike ride we picked them up outside of Port Perry. They helped plant our Tomatoes & Peppers & we all enjoyed a great meal over a campfire. It Read more …
