Time is flying by in the garden!\u00a0 Seems like not so long ago we were asking the snow to go away, and now we are asking for rain!\u00a0 We’ve got onions, leeks, kale, swiss chard, carrots, beets, lettuces, radishes and greens planted into the garden now.\u00a0 Things are starting to look green; even the asparagus are poking their heads up!\u00a0 So we decided we’d better cultivate them along with the raspberries and rhubarb.\u00a0 Here is a picture of our new crop of interns weeding away in this patch while Jess and Lenny pull the single row cultivator and Kyle steers it.<\/p>\n

We’ve also finished transplanting all the lettuces into the high tunnel – things are growing nicely in there.\u00a0 Hopefully we will have some pak choy for sale on Saturday<\/span><\/span> at the Open House!\u00a0 As well as a few potatoes and onions and maybe more…<\/p>\n

We also had our first CRAFT Day of 2014 – we went to visit Tony at Wheelbarrow Farm.\u00a0 Our interns got to meet a few other interns from different farms in the area, and learn about greenhouse production.\u00a0 We especially liked meeting their Olde English Black pigs which he has been using to help clear the garden beds of roots!<\/p>\n

We can’t wait to see you this Saturday, May 10 from 10 am until 4 pm!\u00a0 Bring some friends along – we’re sure they’ll enjoy a day in the sun learning all about our way of gardening, and visiting with the animals \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
