Seems like we are on the verge of a few crops being ready!\u00a0 The peas are a good size, they just need to fill in a bit.\u00a0 The tomatoes are on the vine \u2013 just need a bit more ripening time:<\/p>\n

The corn is also getting tall enough that we had to weed it ourselves, instead of getting the horses out:<\/p>\n

We did get the horses out to move the grass fed chicken house, though.\u00a0\u00a0 We didn\u2019t realize how much Lenny and Mr. Gray had changed until we asked them to do a slow and steady pull.\u00a0 When we got them last year they would have had no problem going slow; now they seem to have forgotten about slow!\u00a0 They\u2019ve learned some tricks from Calvin and Peg, I guess…<\/p>\n

Our next batch of chickens will arrive this week \u2013 let us know if you would like a few for your freezer.<\/p>\n

We are now accepting registrations for the 2014 Winter CSA!\u00a0 Last year we included some frozen produce, as well as soaps and dried herbs.\u00a0 This year we hope to have more frozen fruit, preserves and a greater selection of storage veggies outside of the usual roots (fingers crossed).\u00a0 The winter share starts after Thanksgiving and continues to mid January.\u00a0 Get in touch to reserve your spot!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
