We had a few people come by the farm to visit &\u00a0volunteer. The OTESHA group was one of them. They came on a rainy day after a very challenging bike ride we picked them up outside of Port Perry.\u00a0They helped plant our Tomatoes & Peppers &\u00a0we all enjoyed a great meal over a campfire. It was great having a group of\u00a0ecologically minded visitors. Before they left they read us this poem they wrote for us!<\/p>\n
LUNAR RHYTHMS<\/p>\n
We were stranded in Port Perr by the side of the road<\/p>\n
our biking legs all weary from a big & heavy load<\/p>\n
storm clouds rolling in and all us getting cold,<\/p>\n
you came to our rescue, by the truckload<\/p>\n
As the stars came out twinkling,<\/p>\n
we still had not an inkling,<\/p>\n
of how to get moving before that clouds came a sprinkling.<\/p>\n
Then your car came up in the dark of night,<\/p>\n
shouting\u00a0“Hey guys, are you looking for a ride?”<\/p>\n
with tears of happiness the cyclists cried,<\/p>\n
“How many of us can you fit inside?”<\/p>\n
Soon behind came two farm trucks.<\/p>\n
And we exclaimed t oeach other, “Holy Fxxxs!”<\/p>\n
we pulled up to the farm, and out of the night<\/p>\n
came a meal so epic it gave us a fright.<\/p>\n
We could not believe it\u00a0with all of our might,<\/p>\n
“They could not be so generous” all of us said,<\/p>\n
as we\u00a0savoured it all a top the trailer bed.<\/p>\n
cuddling in our sleeping bags, cozy & warm.<\/p>\n
We rested safe & sound from the thundering storm.<\/p>\n
When we woke in the morning we saw Connie & Jess.<\/p>\n
They said,\u00a0“Hey OTESHA! Are you ready for a tomatoe fest?”<\/p>\n
we were glad to help with your workshare.<\/p>\n
we planted those tomatoes with the outmost care.<\/p>\n
The rows may not be straight.<\/p>\n
But hey, those fruit will still taste great!<\/p>\n
You blew us away with your offer of food.<\/p>\n
mmm so delicious, it really heightened\u00a0our mood.<\/p>\n
