SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

Farm Events

Wow! Spring is in the air! The sun is shinning and the days are getting so much longer. The buds are even showing on the trees. The greenhouse is now in operation, seeding is a daily task now. To make sure we have frech local produce as soon as possible. This year is going to be a challenge in that the farmers markets are starting by the 20th of May. So early compared to last year when we started the 3rd week of June. But I consider it great training for our CSA, I’ll be able to figure out how early I can reliably grow what vegetables and then hopefully next year we can extend our growing season even more for CSA members. Maybe 20 weeks I don’t know about you but to me that sounds great; anyhting for fresh veggies.

Anyhow, Fantasy has calved so we have some jersey babies running around. The horses are happy to be working they are definetly feeling their oats sort of speak; spring fever is awash in all the livestock. Soon the horses will be using all their extra energy in field work.

Our apprentice trailer is almost complete and Michal our new farmer in training will hopefully be joining us by next week. He seems pretty keen.
