STRAWBERRIES IN PEPPERY MAPLE BASAMIC

  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp peppercorns, coarsely ground
  • 4 cups of strawberries, hulled and halved

In a small heat proof bowl or measuring cup, whisk maple syrup, vinegar and pepper.

Microwave on high for 30 seconds.

Place strawberries in bowl. Pour maple mixture over. Let stand at room temperature , stirring occasionally, 1 to 4 hours.

Serve berries with syrup in small bowls.

Makes 8 servings.
